69RR Conv. 7/4/08 post

Dear 69RR Conv,

Happy 4th of July.

Don't quite yet call me the 21st Century Nostradamus because you will want me to pick 6 Lottery Numbers w/Power Ball or the Ponies at your Neighborhood Race Track. All kidding aside, what has been happening to Detroit, Oil Sales and World Events, I have been Spot On.

Read Yahoo News, Reuters Article written by Alistair Sharp... World Must Brace For $150 a Barrel & Beyond

Aside from quoting FDR, Do you feel that what is happening to an unprepared Western Government nameless, unreasoning unjustified terror? Why?

These events didn't just happen overnight, 69RR Conv.

As far as your comment who owns the USA, The Federal Reserve Board has the POWER TO STOP THE DOLLAR FROM SLIDING. THEY COULD RAISE INTEREST RATES. THEY COULD MEET WITH THE WORLD BANK TO BUY BACK US$$'S. They have hinted on the news which I receive via Satellite is they are waiting until after the election. This is insane. A Barrel of Oil by December 1st 1ill be $210 (PREDICTION). Oil Supply will be tight for the People North of the Equator for heating Oil. (PREDICTION)

Israel will attempt to destroy Iran's Nuclear Facilities after the US Presidential Elections. (PREDICTION) Why you ask? Barack Obama beats John McCain in Landslide Winning 40 States (PREDICTION)

GM MAY bring Minicar ???

"Everything is under review" -- The time to utter these syllables is too long to delay deciding on the Beat's arrival.

"Obviously, the market has been changing rather rapidly." Obviously more rapidly than the Strategy Board's meeting schedule.

"A 35-mile-per-gallon requirement [is] certainly something that impacts our portfolio planning." Impacts? Try "blows to smithereens." Beat will be armor in this case.

Quit the reviewing. Stop the beard-stroking. Ditch the portfolio hurrumphery.

Put the former truck engineers on a round-the-clock shift schedule to get those impact issues handled.

Tell the marketing guys to start a straight-talking internet campaign.

GM's Product Line Up

Somebody's been asleep at the switch. These Product People are supposed to be informed about market direction, fuel efficiency and fuel cost. Instead they play games and draw high paychecks as well as undeserved bonuses. I see this area as a good place to reduce cost. Meanwhile, it's down the tube while the Chairman doesn't know what or where the problem lies or for that matter what to do. It's time for action not another meeting.

Ken Lichtig ----- JFK

Ken you say,"The Do-Nothing Democratic Party's favorite Word on increasing Domestic Oil Supply is NO!! They have not a clue but is willing to have a Novice seeking the Presidency. Well they did in 1960. Look at the mess JFK did from 1961 to 1963. First Meeting with Khruschuv was a disaster. Bay of Pigs, Berlin Wall, Cuban Missle Crisis just to name a few. Civil Rights Law was stalled in Congress. Steel Strike in 1962.

He is immortalized only because of his 1963 Assassination."... Ken you say, "He is immortalized only because of his 1963 Assassination." ... I will not say much to what you are saying by the freedom of your speech but with my freedom of speech I will say, Thank the Heavens that you are not in charge of writing History!! ... Ken you continue to say," 1964 Election, if he would not been killed would probably had a Primary Season like the one in 1976 between Gerald Ford (R) and Ronald Reagin. Reagin came very close to winning the nomination. Between Barack and Hillary in 2008 would have involked similar resullts if this would have reached the Democratic Convention. John Kennedy if he lived and eked by getting the Democratic Nomination would probably been defeated in November." .... Are you a SOOTHSAYER?? ... SOOTHSAYER is One who claims to foretell events; Prophet;seer.

Thu. 07/3/08 11:08 PM

Ken Lichtig----- FEAR

Ken Lichtig you say,"Oil Speculators, Worldwide Political Instability, Disrupted Oil Inventories and possibility of Hurricanes hitting the Gulf of Mexico also is causing "panic" as prices are rising out of fear and doubt.".... Who was the Presdient that said,"This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF--nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.

Thu. 07/3/08 10:43 PM

Ken Lichtig, Abu Dhabi, UAE ---- Question

Ken Lichtig you ask,"Why doesn't the Federal Reserve Board Members,

Chairman, Ben S. Bernanke

Vice-Chairman Donald L. Cohen

Kevin M.Warsh

Randall S. Kroszner

Fredric S. Mishkin

attempt to prop up the US$ from freefalling futher? Non interception will cause oil prices continue to get more volatile in the days and months to come." ..... All you got to do is LOOK who really owns the USA!!!!

My father was a 36 year Chrysler Management employee. Since January he has been in and out of the hospital in Florida, I was running his affairs from Wisconsin. The information from Met Life to purchase the "voluntary life policy" was forwarded from the Florida post office on the 6th of June. I received it on the 13th in Wisconsin, had to fly to Florida to attend to dad on the 17th....faxed in his application for insurance on the 18th AM....was told "it was to be in on the 6th, but we'll let you know".....dad died on the 18th. Notified Chrysler who carefully points out he has no benefits with them as of the 31st of May. Today Met Life gets back to us, application was late, coverage denied. I am Vice President of an Electronics manufacturing company whose first "real" job was in the automotive industry in the early 70's....I am ashamed to be associated by position with managment. For years I felt the union was the downfall of industry through the inefficiency created by nonvalue added activity, poor behavior, and innane work rules. Today it's management who lack an understanding of their business or caring for the employees and customers who allow them to hold their powerful and high paying positions. If dad knew of this latest turn of events it would be another dagger in his back.

Macaw

Bill Gates lost my support several years ago. Ive heard that he was pushing to bring many foreign workers into our country to train for tech jobs.

My next computer will be Bill Gatesless as possible. I hope IBM does get him. Microsoft Windows sucks anyways and has become what I call a communist software.

Michigan's chance to land VW plant nonexistent

Macaw,

I lived there and worked in the industry, and would love nothing more than to see Michigan and the domestic auto industry back in the driver's seat. But I can't illustrate the reasons why that won't happen any better than you have in your own grudge-filled post.

Michigan workers undoubtedly have the skills to produce automobiles. But today, appropriate skill is easily conferred by computer technology upon a raw labor force in a 21st century version of Henry's assembly line technique. In a few years, squirrels will be able to assemble cars.

So, on skill, Michigan workers may have a slight edge, but that is more than made up for by the collectivezed attitude of entitlement, oppositionism and nostalgia are too deeply ingrained in the culture.

America's businesses became great because they operated under purely objective business principles -- they did what was good for business and drove a general prosperity. Today's Michigan just isn't a good place for business. We all hope that will change, but the only way it will is by a huge cultural shift, not only in Detroit proper, but throughout the state as a whole.

attempt to prop up the US$ from freefalling futher? Non interception will cause oil prices continue to get more volatile in the days and months to come.

Oil Speculators, Worldwide Political Instability, Disrupted Oil Inventories and possibility of Hurricanes hitting the Gulf of Mexico also is causing "panic" as prices are rising out of fear and doubt.

The Ecomomic Meltdown is already in motion as the Dow Jones is now considered entering a Bear Market. A Bear Market is a pessimistic market. Job Losses are accelerating. Barrel of oil was $146 on news of dwindling US Supply. The other G8 Members will hold a summit in Japan next week with President Bush attending. Their economies are in danger too.

The Do-Nothing Democratic Party's favorite Word on increasing Domestic Oil Supply is NO!! They have not a clue but is willing to have a Novice seeking the Presidency. Well they did in 1960. John Kennedy if he lived and eked by getting the Democratic Nomination would probably been defeated in November. Goldwater was a sacrifical lamb up against LBJ in 1964.

GM and Ford, two very old Dynasties are reeling with GM Stock under $10.00 a share. They are burning through their cash much faster than thought thus their stock has dropped over 50% of value since the beginning of the year. GM, in the past as much as today have not listened to the American People or the Economic Gurus with their "Crystal Balls".

Ford stock is now cheaper to buy than filling up your gas tank in California as Ford stock was under $4.36 . My sister in Simi Valley called me via Yahoo Messinger telling me that gasoline for 87 Octane is about $4.57 a gallon.

Building Crossovers are not the answer to compete with Japan, Europe and Korea. They, Detroit need to start producing smaller cars to compete with Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris and Nissan VERSA in today's market. Not 2010 but now.

Chrysler is in worse shape then Ford or GM if they continue, Business As Usual. Their cars have been torpedoed by every automotive magazine plus Consumers Reports. They do not have anything to compete with Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra. or Nissan Sentra yet alone nothing in the "B" Segment which includes subcompacts. Chrysler's Owner's, Cerebus will unload their losses by 1Q09 by selling off Chrysler Corporation to either to India or Mainland China.

Smaller cars are selling in the Emirates. Peugeot, Fiat, Mercedes, BMW, Renault, VW, Opel, Skoda, along with Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Hyundai/KIA.

Saw my first Chery pick-up truck. Looked like an old Ford Courier/Chevy LUV p/u from the 70's.

With the traffic jams, highway construction and detours plus the parking lots charging for parking... Smaller vehicles are ruling the roads here in the UAE.
