Modern Marxism in the Democratic Party, Detroit
David B. Livingstone,
Pleistocene is derived from the Greek words "most", and "new". Obviously you don't know the word's meaning, although in the framework of time it ws those years between 1.8 Million years ago up to about 10,000 years ago.
Marxism on the other hand is a general THEORY that sets out to discover why human society is what it is, and that changes are NOT accidental, but follow certain laws. It is not a completed finished theory. So it doesn't end it develops, and is applied to new facts that come to light. Marxism has general principles that are historical in fact.
Marxism is characterized by Explotation of a class of society by another. Sounds much like today's Democrats that continually pit one class against another, The "rich" vs "poor" ring a bell? The "haves" vs the "have nots"? Who else wants to use the number of homes one has as a talking point? The Democrats, they think it matters, it's Marxists.
- Marxism has Alienation of it's people, by class in Society.
- It has a Class consciousness, which must be possessed by believers before the class can transform the society.
- It has a Ideology that confuses the alienated class groups and creates a false consciousness.
- It has a Political economy, which studies the mechanism of distribution of surplus or deficits that is the result of economic activity.
- It believes that Capitalsim is based on the exploitation of the workers by the owners of the means of production. Democratic ideals of the "rich".
- It views Histroy according to a Class struggle that drives the historical change in society.
- It has an understanding of material conditions and social relations as historically malleable. It says that we can change the meaning of the words and actions to meet our desired results. To use Bill Clinton's words "it all depends what the meaning of the word IS, is".
The important key is that the ethos of Individualism is in direct opposition to that of Collectivism which emphasises the priority of the community as a whole, or group against the Individual. By removing the rights of the Individual and his freedoms, the Collectivist thoughts overshadow the personal rights of the Individual.
The Democratic Party demeans the Individual, for Party loyalty comes first. It says the politics of Personal Destruction applies to the other party, not ours. That is Marxist theology, and a variety of today's Socialism.
Obama is an agent for "change" alright....the WRONG KIND of Change! The Marxists have been in power for over 35 years in Detroit, and you have yet to see real positive change in your neighborhoods, WHY ? Even after 35 Years of Democratic rule you still wait for it, Why? Because you think they want to solve Detroit's problems? Why haven't they done it by now? Kick the Big Government lovers out of office, in Detroit and Washington! Now that would a CHANGE people could believe in.
COMEBACK?
As generally DUMB as Detroit voters have proved to be so far, nothing should be surprise us!
Sara Palin
Well, here we go again. Sara Palin has been on the political scene for one week. Now, she is the idol of the Republican base. I think this is, basically, because John McCain wasn't able to accomplish this. If you criticize her, your sexist or part of the Elite News media. Barack Obama is now being referred to as the "chosen one". This is because John McCain has no platform and can only fight with name calling. This whole thing stinks of Carl Rove. I think the Elitest should be Cindy McCain and her $300,000 dollar outfits she wears to the convention each night.
The Republicans have now stolen Obama's theme of "Change". They had to do this because experience was thrown away with Sara Palin.
Mayor Guiliani also spoke at the convention, and used the example of two people applying for a job (the Presidency). One candidate had tremendous experience and the other was younger but had good credentials. I got news for Guiliani, the younger one would of got the job, because the other candidate was too old and no one would hire him. (Just ask me about that..)
I have watched McCain make up his campaign as he goes and still does not have a solution to anything. After listening to her speak, I feel, if Sara Palin plays with the big boys, all gloves should be taken off. Let the fight begin. I personally would rather have Joe Biden answering that phone at 3 a.m., not Sara Palin. Am I better off than 8 years ago, I don't think so.
I feel that Obama is now fighting back on the issues. At his convention, the word "enough" was the right thing to say. I understand that John McCain was a hero, forty years ago. But he still backed George Bush, so lack of good judgement should also be considered in this campaign.
Its the Mother not the Daughter
The Chicago Tribune-the hometown news paper of Barrach Hussein Obama is doing a diservice to the Amrican public. Their publishing of smut, second hand information and political propaganda concerning children of Republican candidates shows no class and little concern for the truth.
John Son, San Diego, Ca
Yeah, the press and campaigns should leave candidates' kids out of the fight.

Palins' Experience
Bullard, your columns are often a joke, but reading your hypocracy in this one makes it the most laughable of all...yet. Republicans have been touting experience for years, not just in this campaign. For you now to turn your backs on experience, or try to use semantic sophistry to improve your candidates' lack thereof, just reminds the rest of us how important this election is. The party of Bush has lied and cheated long enough. This pick shows that McCain is far less qualified than even Democrats could have imagined.
darrin james, huntington beach, ca
It's a wash. Obama and Palin have about the same amount of experience. McCain and Biden have about the same amount of experience.
The average age of the McCain Palin ticket is 58. The average age of the Obama-Biden ticket is 56.
Pay your money, take your choice.
--Bullard
What a choice...Sarah Palin
Your comment IS a joke, right?
"Marxist"...now that's some pleistocene-era thinking for you.
Hurricane Gustav moves in on GOP
Hurricane Gustav is turning out to be the best friend John McCain and the Republicans have ever had.
Only a disaster "of Biblical proportions," as recently prayed _for_ by Focus on the Family's Stuart Shepard, is sufficient to distract the public from McCain's hapless pick for a running mate.
This year's GOP convention was always set to be a funeral ceremony rather than a celebration; a party bereft of ideas, integrity, and credibility which has hoisted a demented, angry hypocrite as its standard bearer could expect little more. But with Sarah "I don't know what the Vice President does" Palin on the bill, it stands to watch whatever remaining relevance it has evaporate into the stratosphere.
Never ones to miss an opportunity to exploit tragedy for their own gain, McCain and Palin -- the Laurel and Hardy of 2008 presidential politics -- are now making their way towards the gulf coast on a quest for media-bestowed gravitas. If they have any sense, they'll find some rubble and hide under it until the election season is past; the more time they spend in the public eye, the more pitiable and desperate they appear.
The GOP certainly has its faults. But it isn't all that far out of the American mainstream. Republicans won seven of the last 10 presidential elections.

The McCains are the elite ones
Plus Obama is already considered on the elite side. - George Bullard
No, Bullard, mouthpiece of the GOP, wants to paint Obama elite, while ignoring McCain's access to wealth and his complete disconnect with the common condition by declaring that a $4 million/year income is "middle class".
The GOP mantra continues. John of the $520 shoes and Cindy, the excused adulterers with millions, 7 houses, and their own airplane, are the hands down "elite ones" in this race.
Well, I chalk up most of the Washington political class as elite. Obama and McCain cement their elite status with degrees from Harvard and Annapolis, respectively.
Biden may be on the cusp. Of the four on the two tickets, only Sarah Palin is unquestionably a Washington outsider.
But I suppose elite is in the eye of the beholder.

What a choice...Sarah Palin
The Democratic party obviously is in meltdown status over the Palin choice by McCain.
Their desires for a woman to be in the VP slot is just what the Dems needed for this self-inflicted humiliation. They have to thank Obama for that.
From his speech in Germany, to his so-so speach in Denver, this Republican choice of Palin is the Democrats reality check!
Democrats do not hold liscence to the female voters of America! The Republicans can, and do, think for themsleves without the focus groups and the national in-the-tank Obama media telling us who to vote for. We don't need the Liberal media instructions of what we as voters should do. We must make responsible choices with our votes.
We Americans can THINK for ourseloves without a Liberal, Marxist-Socialist bias.
The opportunity for the women of today lies with the Republican party, not the Democrats who went with the safe choice of Biden, NOT Hillary.
Integrity, definiteness of national purpose, and honest ACTIONS are what makes Sarah Palin the great choice for women of today.
The Republicans had the guts to make the call.
Obama blinked, and went with good old boy, the Washington DC insider, Joe Biden.
No guts...NO glory.
For the media of today to demean Palin's accomplishments in office is just typical of Democratic party talking points of Personal Destruction. Palin has more executive experience than Obama, and she is not at the top of the party ticket!
Let us not forget that it is that "little town" of men and women, that strive for personal wealth who are grateful to see a woman accel into the office of the Vice Presidency.
The condescending Marxist viewpoint of Obama is what women will vote against....and not...for.
Palin certainly did fire up the presidential race, making it a lot more interesting. So far, she's survived the swiftboating from the left.

Tired of phoney passed-on lying drivel?
Ten dollar kilobytes of manic McCain hooey,
Don't waste your time on reprocessed slime,
Go to American Thinker, and drop this stinker.

Pardon Kwame?
Excuse me, but the answer to letting Detroit move past this issue quickly is to arrest Kwame and remove him from office! I believe that in this country, when you commit 10 felonies, you go to jail! If convicted, Kwame should do the same sentence that any other citizen would serve. Why should he be allowed to use his ability to continue to disgrace Detroit as a bargaining chip to get out of jail free? This is not some frivolous lawsuit he cost the city of Detroit well over $8 Million dollars and destroyed people's lives.
Convict Kwame, Troy, MI
Points taken. The other side is that sparing Detroiters a long, expensive trial is worth something in a possible plea bargain.
--B.
Kobe, Kwame?
Dude, let it go. Kobe committed adultery, hardly the worst thing in the world to do in today's society, let alone behavior for an athlete. He was convicted of nothing so let it go. The statement is damn near racist
The point is that Kobe got his reputation back, after conceding that adulterous encounter that fateful night. If he can bounce back, so can Kilpatrick.
--B.
Convict Kwame, pardon Kwame, move on.
Lee2,
Are you calling George Bullard a liberal?
Wow. Cheers, Mako out.
thesushi, Troy, mi
If so, that would be a first, verging on libel.
--Bullard
Convict Kwame, pardon Kwame, move on.
What a idiot the columnist is, he gives a real insite to liberal thinking. Maybe we should forgive all crime, no matter what, if the criminal just goes away. What does such logic tell the youth of today. It's ok to commit a crime, the governor will absolve you.
Lee2, Ocala, Fl
Partisanship aside, the overriding issue is this: What's best for Detroit residents? The public good, if you will.
