I got the pleasure of meeting Kal yesterday at Royal Oak, MI. I asked him if he personally met Obama, which of course he had. When asked what his reaction to how Obama is in real life, he with a serious face and without hesitation told me, "he's the real deal." Other questions were asked about health care, his opinions on Ron Paul, the war, and the job market failing. Because I'm not a journalist I don't want to quote anything more he said, mostly because I can't remember perfectly his words, but everything was pro Obama. From a 25 year old sociologist (my) perspective, they were good insights and ideas on what we can do to get this country back on track. Anyway, to wrap this long comment up, Kal Penn in my opinion is doing a great job campaigning for Obama, and is very well versed in the areas that hold dear to our country's attention at the moment. On another note, he was a really cool and relaxed guy to meet and talk to.

The major issue of the week has been the McCain people stating clearly that Obama has been playing the RACE CARD during this year's Campaigns - from the South Carolina primary onward to this summer when Obama keeps on attempting to charge that the Republicans are "going to make people afraid of him."
NOT that the Republicans have said or done anything racist yet, HOWEVER OBAMA KEEPS ON SAYING THAT THE REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO BE RACISTS SOON.
Obama's campaign theme now is: YOU ARE A RACIST UNTIL YOU VOTE FOR OBAMA.

In light of the recent poltical statements by both candidates regarding the high gas prices, where is the main stream media when it comes to the notion of RAISING the Federal Gas Tax by 10 cents per GALLON?
That is the idea favored by the construction company's lobbists. Why don't these same companies give out mileage rebates to their workers instead? Because it's THEIR money, not the public's. They favor more taxes on the backs of the public and more ways to hide cost "overruns". Hey Congress, before you guys/gals go on vacation why don't you DO something that makes sense to us overburdened taxpayers?

Michigan has one of the highest income tax rates in the US
Michigan is in the top 5 of gas tax
Michigan has one of the highest in unemployment rates (I should know I was unemployed for several months)
Michigan auto industry is in the tank
So, again I ask where is Ms Stabenow?
For every dollar that is stolen from me that is called call "taxation" or wealth distribution and sent to Washington - What am I getting for that dollar?
