Spartan for a Day
Spartan football fantasy camper Dick Fullmer, 69, of Caro, Mich. keeps his eyes on the ball and his intensity high while running defensive line drills on the hallowed Spartan Stadium field in East Lansing. Fullmer, who graduated from MSU with degrees in 1970 and 1975, was participating in his third Spartan football fantasy camp. Campers, who paid between $1,000 and $1,250 for the two-day fantasy experience, participated in offensive and defensive drills with Michigan State football coaches and staff.

Go Wings
Detroit Red Wings Captain Nicklas Lidstrom signs the jersey of fan Domenic Bartoletti as he leaves the parking lot after a skate today at Joe Louis Arena. The Wings have the chance to win another Stanley Cup Monday night by beating the Pittsburgh Penguins. If that happens, Lidstrom would be the first European Captain to do so.

Stars and Stripes Forever
In a beloved Oak Ridge Elementary tradition, first grader Rebecca Clark (center), 7, and hundreds of other students wave decorated paper plates in time to the tune "Stars and Stripes Forever," during their annual Red, White and Blue Day celebration last week that honors veterans. At the end of the song, the children hurl the plates in the air.

Freedom
After serving 26 years in prison, convicted rapist Walter Swift was exonerated of that crime by Judge Vera Massey Jones during a hearing at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit, Michigan on May 21, 2008. Lawyers from the Innocence Project worked to win his release. With a world of media, lawyers and supporters swirling around him, Swift waits alone on the steps of the Hall of Justice to make a statement to the press.
