Algonac
Susan, Take the ferry to Harsens Island and eat at the Sans Souci Bar. There you will be as close to the freighters as you can get anywhere on the Great Lakes and/or if you want to see what cottage life is really like drive down along the South Channel to Riverside Market and get a famous sandwich. Most of the cottages in that area can only be reached by boat. On your right on the way down will be beautiful Muscamoot Bay.
Enjoy our island!!

Smokey mountains
Well y'all know how to make a guy homesick. I used to love hiking through that area and reading about it really makes me wish I was back there if only for a little while. I like how you can make a person feel as if they were there with you. Anyhow take care and be safe.

Greenfiel village!
Greg-
Thank you for your blog! Years ago I brought my two sons to Geenfield village often. It's been a long time! Now grown men, my sons have fond memories of the place. After reading your blog, I'm reminded that it's time for my four year old grandson to also enjoy this wonderful place! I, myself , am looking forward to again seeing it "through a childs eyes", and for a little while, be a child myself!
Susan
It's great to see you back! Hope all is well with you! Thank you for your blog!
photography skills
Marcy, your pictures are real world. If Di gives you more ribbing than you can handle, remind her that it is illegal for mannequins to drive a motor vehicle in the state of South Carolina. Tee hee!
Joe S.-
Thanks for your comment! Naw, Di doesn't rib me too much, though I have to say my "rain man" imitation WAS pretty funny! We shopped today, and I found things for the garden! I'm happy, though some of the things make a bit of noise! I'll blog about that later!

Savannah
I loved Savannah -- absolutely beautiful city -- and the squares throughout make walking around so easy. I'll be sure to revisit this one. Thanks for the comment.
Savannah
Hi Di, Marcy & now Jan,
Ahhh, you brought back memories of the cobblestone street in Savannah. We walked the whole thing and back, winding up climbing up the stone staircase built around the cobblestone & brick wall. What fun...we did not get to tour the whole area, so please keep us informed, as we want to go back someday!!! You are doing a great job, with your descriptions...I even felt sad when you left Florida...as though I too, were leaving. Keep the humor, pictures, & Gerty stories coming! We love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Retirees on the road, Marcy
Hi Di,
Thanks for the comeback on pictures. They are really very good, and enhance your description of the wonders of your travels. We envy you both, doing something the rest of us only dream about. Most importantly, done at a time, that not only give you the wisdom of age, but the eagerness of youth!! We are walking along with you, enjoying the wit, humor and vitality that you both, so aptly portray.
Happy Travels..... :-)
ShJeMoJu-
Thank you for your comment! Yes, Diana is a great photographer! (Seems to capture the moment!) This trip has been wonderful! We have alot of memories and laughter to warm our hearts in future winter days. Continue to walk with us through our adventure! There are many days and lots of fun ahead!
Marcy
Hi Marcy & Diana
Well I finally decided it was time to message you both & pass along a little note to Diana. I think you need to keep an eye on Marcy because it appears that she cannot walk & talk without getting lost. Kidding aside It's a lot of fun reading about your adventures and I know you'll both have memories that will last the rest of your lives. Keep the stories & humor coming.
Poncho-
Thanks for your comment, though I have to say that a momentary laps of direction doesn't mean getting "lost". I've been in so many places the last 47 days, I have to remind myself what city I'm in. Thanks for the well wishes and keep commenting to us. We LOVE to hear from people!

Bummed
I can't say I am happy to have to wait until Wednesday for another post and a good laugh, but I understand the internet-on-the-road woes! I will look forward to the Wednesday update! :)
SMETO-
Glad you're keeping up with our writings! Thanks for your comment! We're heading north, slowly but surely! Savannah for four days, then on the road again! Love to hear from you!
